Stefano Del Vecchio worked closely with metal artisans to produce this artfully imagined credenza. Collaborating with Italy’s cherished traditional craftsmen was an integral part of developing Delvis Unlimited’s latest collection and remains an important part of the brand’s DNA.
The Gemona credenza is a strong mix of industrial aesthetics and artisan craftsmanship. While the bold rectangular silhouette can be described as minimal, the swirling surface pattern creates a sense of depth and contrast.
The credenza’s structure is formed of industrial-style metal profiles, however, the top, sides and cabinet fronts are made of treated stainless steel and the interior is rendered in wood. The shifting pattern is produced by hand-burnishing the metal using a range of corrosive acids, creating a patina that appears as if it has been aged with time.
