Dining table

“Osvaldo table is conceived with the aim of creating a provocative object in which the language of the materials is twisted.”
— Fabio Fantolino
Fabio Fantolino designed his grand Osvaldo dining table to resemble a dance of shapes and materials.
The Osvaldo table’s structure is made of bronzed and brushed steel and takes the shape of a curved ribbon that forms the legs and wraps the tabletop, which is composed of wood that has been burnt through manual processing.
Wood, typically warm and welcoming, becomes severe and austere thanks to the considerable thickness of the top and the burning process that makes it dark. The other material Osvaldo is composed of is iron -- used on the legs that, with their sinuous shapes, embrace the top and restore lightness to the table.
The light passing through the bronzed legs casts intricate warm shadows while bouncing over the upper textured surface, shaping an ever-changing play of light and dark.
