Fratino
Dining table
by Antonio Aricò
2018
"“The project comprises a room that collects and reunites the essential aspects of an intimate and social Italian way of living: Una Stanza brings an almost archaic and primordial vision of a closed and intimate place. Each type of wood conveys emotion through its grain and color: rose, amaranth, palisander, ziricote and many other types of wood give life to Una Stanza.”
— Antonio Aricò
The Fratino table recalls the Italian tradition of sharing in simplicity, recalling the ancient image of a monastery’s refectory, where meals were taken in a common ritual.
Formed of a simple structure with an asymmetrical truss support, the wooden surface is decorated with a curved bronze insert that lends a touch of precious light to the simplicity of the piece.
Fratino is made with wengè, an African hardwood with a dark finish and a deep natural grain.
