Maria Tyakina

Maria Tyakina is a Rotterdam-based furniture designer whose work explores the physicality of everyday objects and the ways they mediate our connection to the material world. Her practice is characterised by sculptural gestures and a minimalist approach that emphasises structure, material behaviour, and spatial tension. Working at the intersection of abstraction and functionality, she reimagines typologies by letting material and construction inform narrative and use.
