Soft Goblet reimagines the vessel as an ambiguous body. Made of silicone, it recalls both the fragility of bodily organs and the artificiality of prosthetics, alluding to plastic surgery, body pleasure, and objects of care. These are aided characters, patients subdued by recovery, impotent beings struggling to fulfill the very function that defines them. Neither entirely functional nor purely symbolic, the Soft Goblet inhabits a disturbing intimacy, oscillating between the familiar and the uncanny.
